Friday's Question

I'd like to know what book (outside of the Bible) has influenced your life the most. If you don't mind, take some time to explain how it impacted your life/ministry and any other details that you can think of.

It would be, without question, C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity. I was a very new Christian when I read this at the University of South Carolina and I was beginning to be immersed in liberal theology in my religious studies classes (and on the campus, in general). The book showed me how reasonable belief in Christ is, and gave me a desire to love Him with my mind.

For me it was undoubtedly R. C. Sproul's "The Holiness of God". My small view of God was ripped to shreds and replaced with a new heart-enflamed reverence for the true, sovereign, all-powerful, glorious God of the Bible.

Thanks guys. Those are both great books. It's actually hard for me to pick one personally. Desiring God was unbelievably life altering in the Fall of 2000 for me. Since then there have been several others such as The Life of God in the Soul of Man.
